When the credentials are not valid, a “403 Forbidden” message shall appear and there isn't any way to get around this restriction, so you can be sure that nobody shall be able access the protected content. The function may be helpful in a number of situations - if only a few individuals need to be able to see specific files, if you are developing a site and you do not want people to see it before it's completed, and so on.
